Degree About
Calgary Justin Strong BSE '07

I have ~2 year experience working with an engineering consulting company in Calgary. I worked primarily with the renewable resources department, on wind energy projects. I am currently undertaking an MBA at the University of Calgary, Haskayne School of Business. I'm interest in renewable energy technologies as well as energy markets.

At UNB, I was the VP Finance and Operations of the UNB Student Union in my graduating year (2006-2007). I also enjoy running and have completed 2 half marathons in the past year.

Why do I volunteer? To reconnect with UNB and meet fellow UNBers.

Calgary Souvik Neogi BSE '08
Fredericton
BBA '08

I really enjoyed the time that I spent as a Grad Class volunteer, and I wanted the opportunity to give back to UNB now as an Alumni Volunteer. I work in social media, I'm always taking advantage of networking opportunities and look forward to meeting Fredericton Young Alumni.

Ottawa Paapa Abekah BBA '08

Currently I am a Review Officer for the Office of the Procurement Ombudsman of Canada. I captained the Varsity Reds Men's Soccer team in 2007-2008. You can catch me on stage rockin' the mic too.

Why did I decide to volunteer? The UNB Alumni network is not only a business platform or a way to stay in touch, it's a touch of New Brunswick in places where you'd least expect to find it. The opportunity to be a part of it, give back to the University and make new contacts and friends couldn't be passed up.

Ottawa Gibran Hameed BBA '07
Ottawa John-Ryan Morrison BBA '02

I graduated from UNB in 2002. I really did love my experience there. I met so many good friends that I still try to keep in touch with today. I tried my best to particpate and get involved and it really made a difference to my university experience. I am currently the Director of Finance at a small college in Ottawa where I recently moved 7 months ago. I still play quite a bit of soccer, travel as much as possible and spend most weekends at the cottage

I have been a volunteer since a relatively early age. I have always thought it important to give back. Most of my volunteer experience is from coaching soccer. I started coaching soccer in grade 10 and continue to do so. I love two things, soccer and Fredericton. I feel volunteering for the UNB alumni is a good way to give back to the city and school that I love.

Toronto, ON Melanie Henry BPhil '06

I am currently a medical student at McMaster, and will be finishing in a year. I am particularly interested in paediatric health policy. I like to swim, play basketball and soccer.

I've decided to volunteer because I feel like I have lost touch with UNB since my graduation and would like to reconnect with other young professional. I also welcome the opportunity to make contacts outside of the medical field.

Vancouver Jess Stutt BA '08

I'm a Masters student in Urban Studies at SFU, interested (professionally) in urban issues, environmentalism, transportation, governance, political science. My interests include: music, live theatre, biking, hiking, being outdoors, all sorts of social events. I volunteer because I loved my time at UNB so much! Would love to be able to meet up with fellow young alum to make more connections out east!
